We couldn’t agree more but we’re pleasantly surprised that our own Ocean City, New Jersey was voted the Best Beach in America in in Coastal Living’s “Best Beach in America” March Madness bracket.
They were up against Huntington Beach, CA in the final showdown. The other two final four towns were Tybee Island, GA and The Indiana Dunes, IN.
Ocean City’s large boardwalk, rides and long beaches make it the perfect place for families to vacation. It’s one of a few dry towns along the shore, too, which is what we think draws many people to OCNJ. Some people love the bar scene but the majority of people could do without the drunk kids waking them up at 3am when you want to go surfing the next morning.
Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this peaceful scene?
Ocean City also has an amazing shopping corridor along Asbury Avenue. We’ve covered it in our Shop Local, NJ series before.
So, whether you’ve been going for years or have been meaning to check it out, come down to Ocean City this summer and celebrate their big win!
