Earlier on in the process of getting a woman onto our money, there was speculation that she would replace Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill instead. Ardent supporters of Hamilton, a United States founding father and the founder of our own city of Paterson, rallied against that possibility and it sounds like they’ve won their argument!

Not only did Alexander Hamilton found the city of Paterson, he also created the United States Treasury so it makes sense that he remain represented on our currency.

The popularity of Hamilton, the Musical undoubtedly helped sway the final decision.  Alexander Hamilton has been enjoying a renewed interest ever since the musical hit Broadway.

Congrats to all the Hamilton supporters! We look forward to seeing those Harriet Tubman twenties!
