We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us. We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time. Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of these. Support local arts or get outside and do something with us.

Transitioning is a long, expensive, and scary process. Trans people face discrimination in nearly every aspect of their lives, and we hope to make at least part of that easier.

King’s Day (Koningsdag: Netherlands)

Wednesday, April 27th, noon to 10pm at Nik’s Wunderbar, Whitehouse Station

King’s Day is an annual celebration held all over the Netherlands to honour the citizens of the nation for their service. Simply put, it is a day to celebrate being Dutch. As such, with traces of Dutch history all over ‘West Jersey,’ we thought it proper to honour the Dutch by toasting with a few of their own historically significant and amazing beers. On draft, Netherlands only monastic brewery: De Koningshoeven – La Trappe: Dubbel, Isid’or, Quadrupel. We will be serving Dutch dishes, have plenty of fun giveaways to wear, and Artisanal/La Trappe glassware to raffle off. Be sure to come in your brightest orange and raise a Dutch brew with us.

Three songs per musical act and you get to hear a wide assortment of musical talent from New Jersey! Bands so far include Ice Giant, Delicate Flowers, Sundried Everything, The Double Negatives, Rosemarie Feliciano, Joshua Sigmund, Laree Cisco, Cape Ferrello, Joe Billy and Found Vegas.
