We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us.  We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time.  Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of these.  Support local arts or get outside and do something with us.

Bolero Snort Night at Stosh’s

Friday, April 29th, 7pm at Stosh’s in Fair Lawn

Bolero Snort is coming to Stosh’s and we’ll be pouring their Anniversary Tripel, Passion Fruit Pale, Rotatabull 003, and Javahorn!

Steampunk Boonton

Friday through Sunday, April 29th – May 1st, Downtown Boonton

Boonton, New Jersey welcomes visitors for a weekend of entertainment, shopping, dining and art on April 29th, 30th and May 1st for “Steampunk Boonton.” See creative works of art embracing the Neo-Victorian Age influenced by technology and industrial machinery, powered by fantasy and science fiction. The annual art event encompasses all things #Steampunk, including an Art Exhibit, Steampunk Portrait Studio, Paint & Sip Class, Sculpt & Sip Class, iPhone Art Class, Scavenger Hunt, Fashion Exhibition and Live Steampunk Music. Shop and dine along Main Street to further enjoy the weekend in Boonton, celebrating the art of Steampunk culture!

WFMU Record Fair

Friday through Sunday, April 29th through May 1, Brooklyn Expo Center

Daily admission is $7 or $25 for the weekend with 30,000 Square feet of LPs, CDs, 45s, DVDs and more from 200 Dealers from all around the world!

Don’t miss out on the best record shopping weekend of the year! WFMU also has its own tables selling LPs, 45s, CDs, DVDs, and books, including $1 LP and CD tables! Great films and live performances, plus live WFMU broadcasts! Aside from perusing the record stands, there will be live performances on Saturday from R.L. Boyce (2:00pm), The Moles (3:30pm), and Colleen Green (4:30pm). Sunday it’s the Fat White Family (acoustic, 4:00pm). The A/V Lounge will be showing films all weekend. (details forthcoming) including the WFMU documentary, Sex And Broadcasting. The Home-Spun Merry Go Round is also making a welcome return to the fair this year. Food from Two Boots and Dub Pies and beer from Sierra Nevada.

Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival

Sunday, May 1st, 11am to 6pm, Downtown Hoboken

Festuring musical performances by: Leon Russell, Smokey’s Round-Up, Emily & the Ideals, The Amazing Incredibles, Sylvana Joyce + The Moment, Amanda Holley, Frankie Morales & the Mambo of the Times Orchestra, Skyfactor, Michael & the Rockness Monster, Skyfactor and more. Over 300 artists, crafters, local businesses & food vendors participating. 3 stages of live performance. Children’s section on 3rd St. with music, rides, games, sand art, face painting, creative activities & more.

2016 Asbury Park Restaurant Tour

Sunday, May 1, noon to 4pm, Asbury Park

Featuring Small Bites, Sampling, & Demos! Restaurant Tour wristbands will be sold in advance (on sale April 1) Price $35. A limited amount of wristbands will be available for purchase on the day of the tour. At the event, the Restaurant Tour Check In Tent will be stationed in Press Plaza for guests to collect wristbands and will feature some ‘amuse-bouche’ music to kick-off the culinary experience. Tour guests will pick up their wristbands along with a tasting guide and map of participating sites as well as offers from local merchants. FREE tour transportation will make continuous loops around town provided by the Chamber throughout the day. The Chamber will be awarding prize packages at the end of the event that include an Asbury Park Seasonal beach badge & other fun surprises to ‘Top Tasters.’
