Two-thirds of us will be on vacation this week so unless there are some NJ bands in Chicago that we can catch, we’re counting on you guys to fill these places!  We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us.  We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time.  Here’s what is on our radar this week.

Dollys, Goodbye Tiger, Toy Cars at the Asbury Park Yacht Club

Friday, May 20th, 9pm at the Asbury Park Yacht Club, Asbury Park

Free show. Super stoked for a great time with these awesome bands. Make sure you have your dancing shoes with you! According to Erik Romero, this is going to be a ripper!

Together. Rock for Bernie – live concert. fundraiser. phone bank. potluck.

On May 21st between 2pm and 7pm, we have some great musical talent at The Porchistas Home Studio to support the campaign of Bernie Sanders for president.

This is a Pot Luck event – (no obligations). Music will be outside if weather permits. If it rains we will move inside.

This will be an effort to drum up ground support for Bernie in the final weeks leading up to the New Jersey primary which takes place June 7th. There will be Bernie campaign staff on hand to try to organize volunteers. We will also have phone banking going on inside the house while the concert takes place outside. Staff will also be handing out donation envelopes if folks choose to donate to the campaign.

Music by: Homeless Apians are a DIY recycle rock group from New Jersey; Fiscal Cliff – indie fresh; The Porchistas – folky, hippy, spacey rock; and Elk City – tuneful, smart NYC pop with strong female vocals.

The Porchistas Home Studio is located at 148 Forest Street Montclair, NJ. Please help us spread the word for the Bernie Sanders campaign!
