This weekend we hiked a little bit of South Mountain Reservation in Millburn and South Orange. If you’re new to hiking or just want a nice long trail with minimal effort, the Millburn end of this reservation will be perfect for you.  The South Orange end has lots more hills and cliffs to scramble up if you’re looking for that kind of hiking.

The Locust Grove section by Millburn is an easy hike and has a fairy trail. We didn’t even know such a thing existed.  It’s pretty cute and a good way to introduce kids to hiking.

The trail is in the woods and has a stream running through it.  There’s a few cool bridges and at points you can still see the road if you aren’t very comfortable really getting out there into the wildnerness.  I found a troll under this bridge!
