For the last three summers, we’ve rented a shore house in Ocean City and had many of our family members come over and enjoy the shore with us. Last year, my sister suggested that we try a fishing trip so we set one up this year and it was a blast!
We took a sunset cruise on the Miss Avalon and really enjoyed ourselves last year so we figured fishing with them would be just as fun. Captain Irv Hurd and his crew are really friendly and patient with everyone. Some people brought their own tackle and didn’t need help and others needed all the help they could get. We were somewhere in the middle.
We chose the Ladies Half Price trip on Monday. It was about $200 for four adults and one child for the whole trip. We all caught a fish or two but none were big enough to keep. Ed came the closest with his double bumper of sea bass seen at the top of this article.
Someone else on the boat caught a teeny shark.
And, I caught this weird fish with little legs!
The ride from Avalon out to the fishing holes just past Cape May is a beautiful one and ocean breezes kept us pretty cool on a very hot day.
Check out all the pictures from our trip on the Miss Avalon and book your own cruise soon!
