We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us. We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time. Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of these. Support local arts or get outside and do something with us.

2nd Annual Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids

The Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids returns for their second annual Boardwalk promenade.

Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival

Saturday, August 27th from 12pm to 8pm, Newark Avenue, Jersey City

The 16th Annual Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, August 27th from noon until 8:00 p.m. The Festival will take place on Newark Avenue between Grove Street and Jersey Avenue in the heart of historic downtown Jersey City only steps away from the Grove Street PATH Station. This year’s event is being co-hosted by Gayborhood JerseyCity and Humanity Pride Productions. The Festival will be preceded by a Pride Festival week (August 16th through August 26th) that will feature arts and entertainment events throughout Jersey City. Join us as we celebrate.

Little Dickman Records and Slow Roar presents an evening at The Beach Bar in Asbury Park with Garage Rock Brother and Sister duo White Mystery! Joining the show is Lameonias very own Darkwing and NYC’s rad rockers Samantha, who are playing their first show ever in Asbury Park! Free show.

Come out for our grand finale show on Wednesday, August 31 at the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Our finally installation of the Asbury Park LIVE concert series will feature THREE bands: Julian Fulton, Asphalt Grey and Dentist (Band)! The show starts at 7PM on the 1st Avenue Green Space.
*Remember to bring a beach chair (or a towel) and your appetite!
Proceeds raised through Mogo Taco and merchandise sales benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation’s Youth Initiative Program. This program provides music education programming, lessons, and instruments to Asbury Park’s youth.
