The Egg Platter, Paterson – Review

The Egg Platter is one of those classic diners that we’ve always wanted to visit.  We weren’t disappointed.  On the edge of Paterson near the Corrado’s complex in Clifton, the prices are just as good as the food here.

Breakfast was the clear meal of choice here.  The pancakes were light, fluffy and perfectly griddled.

Gorgeous eggs on top of crispy corned beef hash was my favorite meal.  Even the potatoes were great.

And you certainly can’t fault this Taylor Ham, egg and cheese sandwich.  Look at that perfect specimen!

They give you a menu when you sit down but you barely need it if you’re in the main section by the front door.  Look at this great menu up above the counter. This is the list of their 21 egg platter options.  Yum!

Lunch was good but not as picture-perfect as breakfast.

The burger was nice and juicy but thinner than the usual “diner burger.”  That’s not necessarily a problem.  Not everyone likes a giant burger.

The chicken fingers were pretty standard.  They were crispy and well-fried.

I wished the BLT’s wheat toast came a little more toasted but the sandwich all together was pretty good despite the too soft bread.

The Egg Platter is only open from 6am to 3pm so you have to make an effort to get there.  We promise that it’s totally worth it, though!
