We recently visited the Denville Farmers Market and found really great local food vendors that we think you would enjoy, too. The full farmers market is open every Sunday from 8:30am to 1pm until November 20th this year. They also have a smaller winter farmers market later into the year.
We made an amazing mushroom cream sauce with oyster and lobster mushrooms from the Foraged Feast vendor. We also tried some sea beans there and ended up taking some home because they were so delicate and salty.
We’re big fans of Stefan’s Specialty Foods. We see their tents in Montclair and a few other markets so when we saw them in Denville we made sure to buy some pierogi and stuffed cabbage.
We also know the Circle Brook Farm folks from other markets and we even joined their CSA for a few years. They are a great organic farm that always has our favorite veggies and then a few surprises.
We definitely check out all this beautiful bread in Denville.
And, we didn’t end up getting any empanadas but they sure looked good, too.
Chickadee Creek Farm is located in Hopewell Township and their farmer Jess was recently named one of the four National Outstanding Young Farmers of the Year. That’s pretty cool! They had a great selection of organic vegetables and their own salsa.
There was a lot to see and buy at the Denville Farmers Market and there are still quite a few weeks to go check them out. It’s very easy to get to by being right off Route 80 and Route 46.
