We’ve been touring some of New Jersey’s best downtowns and telling you all about it for five years now. We’re back at it this year, too. Today is Small Business Saturday and if you can’t think of a place to visit, why not try Morristown? We shopped there last week and had a ball walking up and down South Street and the surrounding area popping into a lot of great stores.
If we had to pick a store that best encompasses the spirit of You Don’t Know Jersey, it would have to be Just Jersey Goods. All their merchandise comes from New Jersey makers. We could honestly do all our holiday shopping here.
Not everything has a New Jersey shape or map on it (even though we think that’s the best shape). These serving pieces would be nice as a hostess gift or for someone who recently moved into a new home.
Of course, if you want NJ clothing, they’ve got it!
These zip code pillows are a really great idea for someone who’s especially proud of their New Jersey hometown. They really have so many food items, household gifts and NJ books that we could spend an hour looking through the store. You really should check them out!
Another shop that we really loved was 23 South. We bought a few vibrantly-colored glove and scarf sets for several ladies in our family here.
They have all kinds of unique gift ideas. We thought these license plate magnets were pretty cool.
And a mug is always a great gift… with or without the sassy saying.
And, fancy desserts are always a good idea when you aren’t sure what to get someone.
Morristown Running Company can help you run off those fancy desserts or help you pick out something nice for the athlete on your gift list.
Look at all these cool running sleeves and supports.
And, who doesn’t love looking at all the neat new shoes! They even have a treadmill that can analyze your gait to help you buy the right shoes.
We bought some high-tech running clothes here for the runners in our family.
There are so many shops in Morristown that deserve to be mentioned… here are some more:
4Ever Michelle Couture has lots of women’s clothes and accessories.
A&R Beauty Supply had lots of items that our young nieces would love.
Swain’s Art Store could frame some of the kids’ pictures in your phone for Grandma.
Smart World Coffee doesn’t just have good coffee and snacks. You could also buy the coffee addict on your list a new travel mug or a variety of different beans.
Anais Boutique has gorgeous women’s clothes and hand bags.
The Grapeful Palate has lots of great wine and beer for gifts.
Lucy’s Gift has so many cool gifts that it’s even in their name! The store’s back story is amazing, too, and will make you want to make sure you stop in.
Boutique 161 has some seriously fashionable clothes.
Whenever we see a Learning Express, we have to stop in. They have great teaching toys that aren’t the run of the mill stuff you see everywhere.
Who can resist buying a gift for your pets at a store called Elephant Nose Pet Center??
Lauren b. is another clothing store that looks great.
And, Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar store has gifts that I would love so I’m sure there are other home cooks that would love to taste test some new olive oils or vinegars!
