We love winter time at the Jersey Shore. Last week we visited Seaside Heights and Seaside Park. This past weekend we headed down to Ocean City where they are in the middle of rebuilding the boardwalk. There were only a few blocks under current construction so we still got to walk most of the length of the ocean front. It is quite a different experience than the week we normally spent here each summer.
It was a very chilly and windy day with periods of rain so we nearly had the place to ourselves. Lots of rides were packed up but some already looked ready to go for the summer. A few people were wandering around, riding bikes and taking selfies in the desolate amusement areas.
We got a nice up-close look at the new roller coaster, Gale Force. We saw it being built in the very early stages last summer. It appeared in the final stages in construction. I for one cannot wait to ride this thrilling coaster.
The funniest, and eeriest, scene we found was someone’s umbrella and beach chairs all set up against the dunes. Someone’s really excited about reserving their favorite spot! Ocean City is our favorite vacation spot so we were tempted to set up a spot too.
