Want to know where we’re going each week so you can join us?  We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time.  Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of them.  Support local arts or get outside and do something with us!

Chatsworth Cranberry Festival

Saturday and Sunday, October 21st and 22nd, Chatsworth

This is a two day event with a variety of handmade items, great food, classic car show Sunday, Bullzeye Band playing both days.

Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market Halloween Edition

Saturday and Sunday, October 21st and 22nd, Roebling Wire Works, Trenton

TWO DAYS of spine-chilling shopping including:  ~ Over 200 different horrifying vendors each day!  ~ Over a dozen devlishly different food trucks each day! ~ Beer garden featuring Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company beers on draft! ~ Meet and Greet w/ Mark & Mark from Weird NJ! ~ Costume contest EACH DAY with prizes! ~ Face painting! ~ Live music on our outdoor stage! ~ Live sideshows and so much more! ~ After Party at Millhill Basement with Crazy and The Brains, Dusters, Thorazine and The Dirty Merlins! (separate fee at the door)

$5 at the door! (Good for both days!)  No tickets required!  Kids 10 & under are free!

Bordentown RiverFest 2017

Saturday, October 21st from noon to 10pm, Park St., Bordentown

RiverFest is a family friendly event. It’s a four acre beer garden with over 12 beers on tap and wine too, over 15 restaurants, live bands all day, over 24 unique vendors and a free kids area, the Bordentown Home for Funeral’s awesome Kids Corner with bounce attractions, magicians and face painters.

Harvest Fest 2017

Saturday, October 21st from noon to 6pm, Kennedy Park, Asbury Park

Hand picked bouquets / Farm Fresh Produce / Live Music / Animal Adoptions / Hand Crafted Goods / Natural Soaps / Artisan Bread / Beer Tents / Food Vendors / Pumpkin Painting / Hula Hoop Demos / Good ol’ Family Fun!

The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s

Saturday, October 21st from noon to 3am, Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery, Jersey City

This annual event is rock show in a cemetery with local musicians performing covers of famous bands. There will be delicious food, refreshing beer, prize giveaways for best costumes and more !!  Entry is a $10 donation at the gates – which helps to restore & preserve The Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery. Please don’t bring your pets or any glass containers to the event. If you can’t make please donate at @www.jerseycitycemetery.org

Special Dragons Presents Rock for Autism

This is Special Dragons Rock For Autism. Featuring Self Help; Los Doggies and The Mutts! This event is to benefit Special Dragons adaptive karate program. We are a non profit specializing in teaching Karate to children with autism and other challenges. 10$ suggested donation.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance and Grigory Gurevich join forces in “Under the Umbrella of Movement”
Celebrate 35 years of bold, powerful, and thrilling performance as Carolyn Dorfman Dance presents its debut performance at White Eagle Hall with Jersey City’s inimitable visual and performance artist, Grigory Gurevich.

The afternoon features repertory selections of audience favorites including Dorfman’s sensuous duet Keystone and the profoundly joyous Klezmer Sketch, with stunning props created by her long-time collaborator, Grigory Gurevich. Dorfman concludes with her sonically eclectic and interactive, WAVES. The performance also features Gurevich in UMBRELLA and CHARACTERS, pantomime that reveals that “nothing in the world is eternal” and “’the hidden characters inside us all.” This is contemporary dance and movement that inspires you to think, feel, laugh, and engage.

Looking for some midweek halloween excitement? Check out our museum October 25th, with a special Halloween concert at Insectropolis!   Live musical performances by:  Doctor Gasp (Providence, RI); Accidental Seabirds; The Moonbees (Charlottesville, VA).  6-9pm   $10 suggested donation so we can keep bringing music to the bugseum.  Ages 18+ only  (not for children)
