The biggest collection of cherry trees in the United States is right here in New Jersey.  Branch Brook Park, which is in Newark and Belleville, was the practice park for Frederick Law Olmsted when he was figuring out what to do with the future Central Park in NYC.  Part of his design idea for Branch Brook was to have a massive number of cherry trees for a beautiful cherry blossom festival in every Spring.  We’re still reaping the rewards of his plan and we stopped by recently to see this year’s blossoms.
