I don’t know many other New Jersey that have such a social conscience but also manage to bring the fun as well as Montclair’s The Porchistas. They produce an eclectic mixture of rock, folk, punk, reggae and jazz that somehow sounds perfect together in their creative hands. Outspoken on political and environmental issues, they never come across as heavy-handed. They are happy kicking back and enjoying a beer with you as long as you are sure to recycle the bottles.

Porch Drive will contain 10 original songs on reusable 2GB flash drive wrist bands so you can either carry it around for quick listening or download the tunes and reuse it.

Guitarist and lead singer Alan “Sucia” Smith explains “Since fewer and fewer people listen to music on CD and most of our repeat listeners do so on streaming services we thought it would be a good idea to give our fans an option to hear our music off of a flash drive that they can then reuse for general data storage.  And the wrist band gives them a convenient way to carry it.”

Preorder the flash drive here.

You can catch the band at their record release show Friday June 8th at Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair. They will be joined by Accidental Seabirds and The Big Drops. Event page here.
