New Jersey singer/songwriter Rob Jennings is at it again. And by at it again, I mean releasing an insanely catchy song with great fat hooks and lyrics both sharp and playful. You Don’t Know Jersey is thrilled to premiere his new single “Keep Me in Mind” just in time for summer. It is a warm, breezy ray of pop sunshine. And it kicks some serious ass in the guitar department.
We’ve known Jennings a while now and whenever we meet up The Smiths are almost always in the discussion. In fact if you’ve seen him live you may just hear his killer version of “Girlfriend in a Coma.” Therefore you can imagine how I smiled ear to ear when the first lyrics “Whenever life gets you down, I’m here to make it worse” hit my ears. If that isn’t lyrical perfection I don’t know what is. A perfectly crafted indie pop song but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Jennings. The song ends on a wave of aahs and oohs that can’t help but leave you in a great mood.
Keep Jennings in mind and give a listen below. Out on Spotify tomorrow.
