Want to know where we’re going each week so you can join us? We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time. Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of them. WoodBridge to Art: An Evening of Art and Music
Friday, December 14, Woodbridge Public Library
#Woodbridge Public Library will host woodBRIDGE to ART: a 350th anniversary celebration, a special after-hours, public art show with live music, to celebrate Woodbridge Township’s 350th Anniversary on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM, at the Woodbridge Main Library, 1 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, NJ. An exhibit of children’s drawings and paintings inspired by Woodbridge Township will be displayed in the first floor meeting room and the work of more than 70 local artists, in a variety of mediums, will be on display on the second floor.
Performances by local musicians Jeff Linden and the Black Spot Society, Cold Weather Company and Woodbridge’s own The Afraid Brigade will be sponsored by The Friends of Woodbridge Library. Ribbons, whose design was inspired by the ribbons bestowed at the historic Woodbridge Speedway, will be awarded in each medium as well as in a special Woodbridge-inspired category.
In October of this year Woodbridge Public Library began collaboration with the Barron Arts Center to co-sponsor a call for artists. More than seventy local artists responded and their creations will fill the Main Library for the evening.
woodBRIDGE to ART: a 350th anniversary celebration is sponsored by the Woodbridge Township 350th Anniversary Committee, is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Visit woodbridgepubliclibrary/artshow, or call the library at 732-634-4450, for more information.

Sabrina Beniam / Clemintine Von Radics / Lindsey Marie
Monday, December 17, Wonder Bar, Asbury Park
Poet Sabrina Benaim has confirmed her first ever tour of North America. Beginning in Lansing, MI on Nov 24th, part one of the tour includes stops throughout the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast ending at a special hometown show in Toronto on Dec 22nd. Full dates are listed below. (Part two is set for Jan/ Feb 2019 and will include Texas and the West Coast-those dates to be announced soon).
Sabrina is the author of best-selling book of poetry DEPRESSION AND OTHER MAGIC TRICKS (published by Button Poetry, also home to Neil Hilborn). Her videos online have reached over 100 million people.
The shows are poetry readings with a sense of humor and hope. While the subject matter can sometimes be dark, these performances are also uplifting, as they bring out in the open frank discussions of feelings many people share but don’t know how to voice.
Kicking off the evening will be special guest Clementine Von Radics and Asbury Park’s own Lindsey Marie.
