We told you about the first tour in June and the Bloomfield Center Alliance is bringing it back again because it was so successful. This October 5th, the tour features a completely new set of Bloomfield’s food destinations and will run from 2-5PM.

This second walk through Bloomfield’s town center will include guided stops for samples at restaurants with cuisine ranging from Ethiopian to Cuban to Mexican and more. A guide will lead the tour along with staff from the Bloomfield Center Alliance to provide history and plans for the area along with shopping tips.

The second Food Tour comes at the end of a summer filled with culinary events like Dinner Under the Stars, a popular al fresco summer dining event that was extended by popular demand through September, and will be followed by a Harvest Fest the following weekend.

“The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center in June was such a beautiful experience. We have so many food entrepreneurs in our small Center and it was great for the guests to get to engage with them and sample their specialties. This second event will showcase completely new entrepreneurs and further solidify Bloomfield Center’s reputation as a multi-ethnic, creative, and walkable food scene,” says Ollyn Lettman, Director of the Bloomfield Center Alliance. “One of the restaurants participating on this tour has actually opened since our last tour of the district – Ethiopian restaurant Injera, and others like Havana Sandwich Café have been part of our district for several years.”

George Lugo, Owner of Havana Sandwich Café, a restaurant known for their empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, and Cuban pot roast, notes, “We’re excited for people to see Havana and try our dishes. We know a lot of people probably pass by on Bloomfield Avenue so we’re excited for this opportunity for them to stop and see the kind of food, décor, and service we offer.”

Richard Williams, Owner of Injera Ethiopian Cuisine, says “We just opened last week in Bloomfield and love the community of restaurants we’ve joined. We offer a unique twist on Ethiopian staples and look forward to participating in the Food Tour as a way to get more people through the door and seeing our menu.”

The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center this October will begin and end at Bloomfield’s historic Lackawanna Train Station and involve short walks between restaurants. Participating restaurants in this tour include: Injera Ethiopian Cuisine, El Toro Loco, Apna Punjab Indian Cuisine, State Street Grill, Havana Sandwich Café, and BGR – Burgers Grilled Right.

Participants will also be provided takeaway with information on all restaurants in Bloomfield Center.
