Acid Dad / Of Clocks And Clouds / Rachel Ana Dobken Live At Lola
Saturday, November 16th, LOLA, NYC
You are invited to the inaugural Give A Jack concert series, powered by Launch and Jack Daniels, live at Lola in New York City, featuring local psych punk legends Acid Dad, and psychedelic grunge mavens Of Clocks And Clouds.
Acid Dad first appeared in the New York scene at the onset of 2016. After spending the year self-releasing demos recorded at their studio in upstate New York, the band garnered local praise from the likes of Oh My Rockness, Consequence of Sound, BrooklynVegan, Stereogum and more. After releasing their debut EP “Let’s Plan a Robbery” in February 2016, followed by their first sold-out show at Baby’s All Right, Acid Dad embarked upon a two month tour of the United States. Fresh off their first tour, which included numerous SXSW performances as well as appearances on Daytrotter, Audiotree and Jam in the Van, the band started writing their debut LP. At the outset of 2017, the band began recording what would become their first full length. Now part of the Greenway Records family, their Self-Titiled debut LP was released March 9th to rave reviews from the likes of The New York Times, Consequence of Sound and Brooklyn Vegan. The release of Acid Dad was followed by a US tour which again included SXSW & sold out shows in New York, LA & San Francisco. On the tail of that success, the band crossed the Atlantic for their first European tour which included riotous shows in Amsterdam, London and Paris. Now back home in NYC, the band has transitioned into creation-mode. Acid Dad is hard at work on LP 2 with new singles slated for release and a Greenway Records full length expected soon after!
Born and bred in Brooklyn, Of Clocks And Clouds is a psychedelic electronic rock band whose unique sound has earned them many accolades, including a spot on the Top 25 New Music Critiques by Music Connection. The band’s live shows combine hard-hitting psychedelic rock with melodic flourishes and thrilling tempo-changing explorations that push the senses to their limits. With their improvised electronic jams, OCAC always draws a passionate crowd and enthusiasts of many genres. Of Clocks and Clouds forges their way into your heart, mind, and soul.
This show, at Lola, steps from where NYC punk was born, will also feature fine visual art, performance art, a custom cocktail to fit the evening by award-winning mixologist Miguel Aranda, and other experiential activations.
In many ways, Jack Daniel’s is regarded as music’s first independent label. The spirits brand is proud to partner with Launch to present an original live music experience that encourages artists and fans to share why music important to them while enjoying a specially curated line-up of dynamic, up-and-coming talent.
Attendees are encouraged to share a photo on social media using #giveajack and let us know why music is important to you; what you care about in your music community, your favorite new artists, best memories, how it makes you feel, and anything you’d like to share about the power of music and the impact it has on the world.
