Asbury Park band Dentist channels the sunny 50th state as they turn their pop punk sights on Hawaiian Christmas tune “Mele Kalikimaka” this holiday season. Dentist has been building a following with their surf rock influenced sound beginning with their 2014 debut album through their most recent record “Night Swimming” and with lots of touring. They spent a good part of 2019 on the road with their thrilling live set.

“Mele Kalikimaka” was written by American composer Robert Alex Anderson and has been notably covered by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters in 1950. Here the band, singer/bassist Emily Bornemann, guitarist Jason Bornemann and drummer Matt Hockenjos, add a little Jersey and Atlantic Ocean to the Aloha state sound.

So today, while you’re finishing wrapping the presents, and tomorrow, while everyone is tearing the presents open, give a listen and enjoy this bi-coastal tune.

Happy Holidays!!
