Thanksgiving might have just ended but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people out there that still need a helping hand. Deena Shoshkes and Jon Fried, aka The Cucumbers, have just released a new single last Friday with all proceeds from downloads and streaming to be donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. This is not a surprising move from two of the most generous, positive and thoughtful people in the music industry.

“Love and Joy” was written for the annual Hoboken Holiday Banding event and they performed it live in 2018 as The Hoboken Holiday All Star Band. They had such a wonderful time performing it live they decided to head into the studio and record it with some great local talent. Julio Fernandez (lead guitar), Ed Fogarty (guitar), Gary Frazier (bass), Dave Stengel (drums), Bryan Beninghove (sax), and John Keim (keys) all contributed on the track.
“Love and Joy” was recorded and mastered by Scott Anthony at Storybook Sound in Maplewood, mixed by Rob Friedman at littlelife studio, NYC.

You can stream the song on Spotify here. Shoshkes and Fried, who also produced the single, created the video below. Shoshkes said they went over-the-top in the cuteness department but we have no problem with a video filled with cute cats, dogs and tiny humans.
Enjoy the song and help some folks out!
