The Clydes want you to stay at home and so do we.

It is an extremely difficult time for everyone at the moment. From the doctors, nurses and first responders to those in the restaurant and hospitality business to those who have no choice but to go into work or lose their income. The list goes on. Artists of all kinds are also struggling. The bands that we love to cover here at YDKJ have also been affected. Cancelled albums and shows have a dramatic impact on musicians who depend on local shows for income and to build their fan base.
What do you do when you have a video planned and you are under quarantine? You get creative! The members of New Brunswick band The Clydes filmed themselves in their respective homes and stitched the footage together to come up with a video that coveys a bit of the claustrophobia of staying in close quarters for a prolonged time. The kind of mind tricks that leads one to question yourself in the mirror and wonder if it will answer back.
“Beggar Ballin” takes a buoyant Strokes-like guitar riff and adds some plaintive vocals and harmonies to create a nuanced tune that will stick with you. The song is off their stellar 2019 album Old-Time Monarchy on Mint 400 Records.
And there’s a dog!!
Enjoy the video. From the comfort of your home.
