Alice and I haven’t eaten at a McDonald’s in over 10 years. It has been so long I couldn’t tell you what the original reason was for this. I believe it started as a resolution to eat less fast food and the fact that we had heard some bad accusations on how the employees were treated. This far in, there is no way we would go back.
If there is one thing I miss from them, it is the Big Mac. It was my go-to burger and I could literally eat 3 at a time. We have had some similar burgers that we were told tasted like the Big Mac but I was usually disappointed. Then on the Jersey Pizza Joints Facebook page someone posted a mouth-watering picture of the Cheeseburger Deluxe Pizza from Brix Restaurant & Bar in Belleville. I knew right away. This is a Big Mac-style pizza!!
As Belleville is the next town over we headed over there at the next possible opportunity. It was everything we could have hoped for. Ground beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and special sauce. It is all about that special sauce. We also happened to come on a Wednesday which was bingo night. No one in our party won anything but the tunes DJ Lady Star was playing had us bopping at our table big time.
Unfortunately this special pizza is only available this week. For now. We hope they add it to their regular menu soon.
