I unequivocally love Chinese food. For me it is comfort food. For many, including myself, Chinese food was the first taste of international cuisine. It has even made its way into traditions for Alice and I including taking a walk to our local Chinese take-out place the first big snowstorm.
Unfortunately that place is closed on Mondays so we had to search for an alternative location this past Monday. We had heard a lot of good things about Oriental #1 Chinese Kitchen in Bloomfield so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We usually get the same items when we go. Even if the intention is “Hey, let’s try something new” it is touch not to get our favorite dishes. Genreal Tso’s chicken, won ton soup, egg rolls. Nothing fancy. General Tso’s chicken is probably the most popular dish. But it warms the heart like nothing else.
I would be remiss to mention that during COVID-19 there has been a lot of horrible attacks against Chinese people and businesses. This is deplorable. Please, please, please go out and support all your local Asian businesses.
