After two years of greatness in Asbury Park, the Sea.Hear.Now festival had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. Even as festivals, concerts and music in general started to make a comeback there was still a chance that this year it again might not happen. To everyone’s delight the festival went on with some amazing musical talent. Ranging from local talent like Jackson Pines and Remember Jones to the heavy hitters like Pearl Jam, The Avett Brothers, Billy Idol and The Smashing Pumpkins and Patti Smith music again filled the beach in Asbury Park.

As not just a photographer but as a music lover and a people person I strive on the interaction between music and fans. I live for an atmosphere like this and who wouldn’t? Great music, great people and so much to see. The Sea.Hear.Now Festival was created to bring us more than just music. A surfing contest gave onlookers a great view of the Atlantic Ocean while watching talented surfers from all over compete while they wait for the next band to start.

The Danny Clinch Transparent Gallery tent is always a great place to see some of the musical talent display their art in other creative ways. You never know who is going to pop in on a jam session. With pre and after shows, there is so much going on in Asbury Park on this weekend it is hard to keep up. If you were lucky enough to score a ticket to Friday nights pre show at The Stone Pony you saw Jesse Malin and DMC perform “Walk This Way” to a sold out crowd screaming their heads off. The after shows had The Tangiers Blues Band at The Stone Pony Saturday night and Reignwolf at the Wonder Bar.

A big thank you to everyone who came together to make the Sea.Hear.Now Festival happen. It takes years of planning and thousands of people to make it what it has become. See you next year!
