When an act has it, it’s a feeling that’s hard to describe but impossible to ignore. NYC-based soul-pop band Lawrence, led by brother-sister duo Gracie and Clyde Lawrence, put on a high-energy, uplifting and passionate performance at the Stone Pony on the 12th and won over many new fans that night.
The group’s sound is very diverse with elements of funk, modern pop and some lush ballads thrown in for good measure. Vocalist Gracie Lawrence dominated the stage with a committed performance that was spunky, vibrant and soulful and Clyde Lawrence brought a smooth touch to his more intimate ballads. The two’s chemistry was seamless throughout and their backing band accompanied them seamlessly with plenty of energy to spare. The band’s setlist was full of fan favorites including some unique covers and the momentum was maintained effortlessly throughout the night.
With rising talent these days, it can difficult to pinpoint what acts are destined for greatness. With their exhilarating, joyous and engaging set, Lawrence showcased their immense potential and pure showmanship. For fans of modern pop and soul music, Lawrence live show is a must-see experience. Keep your eyes on them as they tour this summer with Misterwives and be sure to follow them on all social media and streaming platforms!
