We are thrilled to premiere the latest video “void” from Asbury Park alt rockers GETLOST. Formed just late last year, the group has been steadily releasing a string of strong singles including “Knuckle Sandwich” and “(filter) that have been garnering them a fair share of attention. The Star Ledger’s Bobby Oliver included the band on his list of 27 New Jersey Bands & Artists You Need to Hear in 2023.

Self described “loud band from NJ”, that certainly applies to their new song and video “void”. Though they sometimes infuse shoegaze and drone into their music those elements are absent here. This song is pure power, in-your-face metal tinged alt rock.
I asked the band about the emotional heft of the song. “to us “void” is about feeling expendable and getting used to living with that feeling. A lack of self-worth stemming from not meeting societal expectation until you hit a breaking point and feel like there’s no escaping it.” However there is hope for heading down a healthier path. “The inspiration for the song came from this need to have an outlet for those feelings of expendability.”
Their debut self-titled album, mastered by Kris Crummett, will be released on July 1st on Pizza Bagel Records.
