Visiting New Jersey for the 2026 World Cup? Support Local Businesses and Shop Some Nearby Downtowns!

Welcome to New Jersey! Love shopping and want to support some local businesses while you’re here? We’ve got a whole bunch of great downtowns near the stadium for you to visit.

North Jersey is lousy with cities and downtowns that are walkable and have great shopping. Most of them are even accessible via NJ Transit. Glad you’re interested… here comes our list of favorite towns a short distance from the stadium and hotels nearby:

Montclair’s Valley Road

Jafajems is our hero store in the Valley Road shopping district of Montclair. If I need a gift for someone or just need a little pick me up, this is the spot.

There’s also jewelry and clothing stores, a very cool dry goods store called Dry Goods Refillery, a toy store, and a Williams Sonoma. You also can’t go wrong with the many restaurants in this part of town.

Rutherford’s Park Avenue

Who doesn’t love a record store visit? Right down the street from the stadium is Social Club Record Store in Rutherford. Park Avenue also has a home decor store, a bookstore, a thrift store, and a very cool costume store called Fun Ghoul!

Hoboken’s Washington Avenue

Noellery is a lovely little jewelry store right in downtown Hoboken. Washington Street also has some great vintage and new clothing stores, bookstores, a lovely candle store called Wicked Scents, and specialty foods stores. And, like all good downtowns, there are plenty of yummy restaurant options.

South Orange’s South Orange Avenue

Kitchen a la Mode is possibly my favorite store ever. I love to cook and I love to browse so it’s ideal for me. Every gadget and tool you could ever want in the kitchen along with cute tea towels, mugs, and gifts. South Orange Avenue also has clothing and jewelry stores, an adorable pop-up shop that has rotating merchandise from different vendors called Pop N’ Shop, a hobby shop, and even an art gallery.

Ridgewood’s East Ridgewood Avenue

Love anime? Or love someone who loves anime? The Secret Studio Store may be the place you want to be in Ridgewood! They also have lots of clothing shops, home decor shops, and a famous (for their celebrity appearance and reading schedule) bookstore called Bookends.
