Bloomfield Steak House, Bloomfield – Review

I went out for a special birthday meal this week and as with most special meals we ended up at Bloomfield Steak House.
Located on Franklin Street in Bloomfield, just off the Bloomfield Ave. Parkway exit, it’s one of the first homes in Bloomfield and has a history that includes once being a stop on the Underground Railroad.

Dry Aged New York Strip — Perfection

We end up here so much because the wait staff is very nice and, though the bar area can get a little loud, the dining areas are very cozy and nicely appointed.

The main dining room is on the first floor with a bustling bar area. The second floor has a nice party space.

On our latest visit, we started with the empañada appetizers which were very large and very delicious. They came with a spicy dipping sauce and were extremely crunchy on the outside and had a slightly spicy and a little… was that cinnamon-y?… meat filling.

For our entrees, we ordered the dry-aged New York strip and the filet mignon, both with the garlic mashed potatoes. The New York strip was cooked to perfection (very rare, like I ordered) and needed a little salt but was otherwise perfect with a little char on the outside from the grill but moist and pink on the inside. The filet was creamy and tender and cooked to exactly medium as ordered. The garlic mashed potatoes were also good and not TOO garlicky so they didn’t overpower the meat.

So, if you’re in the mood for great steak or fresh seafood, expertly prepared and in a very nice, cozy atmosphere, we recommend the Bloomfield Steak House!
